The experimentation and different visual appearances I have practices so far across my blog have made me think seriously about a lot of what I do want to include in my final collection, and a lot of what I dont. I really wanted to get the serious ideas I had out of my head, and onto a page, by spending time producing detailed sketches, to really get an idea of the visual direction I want to go in. There are a lot of different things I want to highlight and represent throughout the final design of my collection. The images below show my practice of drawing different flowers, in different colours, using different layouts and adding different elements.
I started fairly simply, only focusing on the flowers, their size and colours, and not so much yet thinking of the layout or background. Below is also an example of ways in which I could incorporate text into my collection.
Everyday, twice a day, I take the time to write in my journal - at the top of each page is a different inspirational quote that genuinely does always inspire me, and makes me take the time to think about any different situation that is going on in my life. If theyre relevant, incorporating a lot of the quotes that I note down or that I have taken a particular interest in, could be one way I really mix my own inspirations into this collection. This would also be a way of making my collection very much 'everyday', and relevant to a lot of situations / events people will be going through!
