Towards the start of this project, I produced a blog post titled 'Communication' - here, I was focusing on various audiences to target, and potential clients and customers who may eventually be interested in the design and production of these installations. Reverting back, audiences I mentioned included architects, interior designers and landscapers, however as my project has developed, the main audience I have focused on are health professionals. Where doctors and nurses evidently aren't the ones (or most of the time aren't) to ensure the walls and rooms of our hospitals are looking beautiful and decorated, I wanted to research into who focussed on and funded the decorative interior design of hospitals. Two major potential clients include charity organisations Wellcome and NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER;
WELLCOME

- 'Wellcome is a politically and financially independent global charitable foundation, funded by a £29.1 billion investment portfolio. Our strategy includes grant funding, advocacy campaigns and partnerships to find solutions for today’s urgent health challenges.'
- 'Wellcome supports science to solve the urgent health challenges facing everyone. We support discovery research into life, health and wellbeing, and we’re taking on three worldwide health challenges: mental health, global heating and infectious diseases.'
- 'Science can change the world in many ways, from making discoveries that change the way we see the world to inspiring solutions for the challenges we face. Wellcome must, therefore, support science in different ways to achieve our mission of improving health.'
- 'Through partnerships across the world, we advocate to ensure that good research is well supported, and that health is improved by changes to policies and practices based on evidence.'
NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER.

Aiding Patients:
NHS Charities Together are a combination of over 240 NHS charities across the UK, coming together to 'focus on helping our hospitals do more'. They are a 'membership organisation representing, supporting and championing NHS Charities.' - 'NHS Charities Together provides a forum for nationwide fundraising and advocacy campaigns; specialist advice and guidance; bespoke conferences and training opportunities...'
'Collectively these charities give £1 million every day to the NHS so that people can stay well for longer and get better faster. In recent years NHS charities have funded major capital projects, pioneering research and medical equipment at our hospitals, helping patients access the best possible care when they need it most.'
'They also play a key role in mobilising volunteers to support NHS staff, brightening wards and waiting areas with colourful and engaging art and building an important link between our hospitals and our communities.'
'These vital funds and services are above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable.'
Aiding Staff & Volunteers - "We are also just beginning to see the impact of this crisis on the mental health and wellbeing of NHS staff and volunteers. Their resilience throughout the crisis has been remarkable, but what they have had to deal with on behalf of all of us will leave a mark.
In a poll conducted in April, half of healthcare workers said that their mental health had dropped since the virus began taking its toll. 71% of younger health professionals, who are likely to be inexperienced and early in their careers, said their mental health had deteriorated."
-"In another survey of 3,500 nurses, commissioned by Nursing Times, almost all nursing staff are feeling more stressed and anxious than usual: 87% of respondents rated themselves as either “a lot” or “a little” more stressed at work than usual, while 90% said they were “a lot” or “a little” more anxious than before the outbreak. Over 50% described themselves as “a lot” more anxious or stressed than usual."
- "As a result, we are putting a real focus on ways NHS charities can help staff to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and we are already seeing tangible results with the creation of wellbeing rooms within hospitals, places where staff can get away from the stresses of the job and properly switch off."
