Previous experimentation I completed to start this project made me realise / remember somethings... I dont always like working with the brightest colours that can often be unnatural, especially when the contents of what Im producing replicate natural things. I also wanted to challenge myself somehow with this project. Not so much limiting to specific colours, just tones, I have decided to practice producing the visuals and images for this project solely in pastel colours. Targeting an adult audience, I definitely feel a pastel colour palette can achieve the mature appearance I am aiming for. Right now, my collection will be more of an everyday range, opposed to dedicated to celebrating an occasion. I really want my collection to be versatile, a range that can be used for all different situations, because cards, gift wrap and notebooks especially, arent only used when theres something to celebrate! There are many many dates across our calendars that are often looked past and forgotten - I wanted to pick one of these dates and to represent it and be inspired by its meaning, where designing my own collection for the UK Greetings brief. There are endless things in this life to be grateful for, and the current pandemic has made me realise this more than ever. I want my collection to represent a whole variety of different important elements and meanings - being grateful for the things we dont think about everyday such as National Flower Day, spring and the season of growth, transformation and brighter days, optimism and positivity... I have produced a series of pastel colour palettes to really get my inspiration and ideas on the go.
