Where wanting to develop my understanding further, I aimed to really focus on a number of the endless colour palettes found within the rainforests that habitat orangutans - shades of greens and oranges are pretty evident, but I wanted to be specific, where possible. Where I am clearly unable to gather my own primary sourced images of the orangutans and the rainforests, I have sourced secondary photos from online.

The photograph below shows the contrast of an orangutan sat in the tree, with twigs and leaves as its background. I wanted to show this contrast through highlighting tones found directly from the image.

The two sets of photographs and colour palettes below are solely of the beautiful Malaysian rainforests. Where the orangutans and their depleting population is very significant, as is the destruction of these remarkable, natural environments. along with light and deeper tones of green, I extracted tones of blues and purples from the wildlife features.

Bronzes, ambers and burnt orange tones can be found amongst the fur of the orangutans, but what about their skin and exposed hands and faces? Past the shades of grey are tones of blues and purples which would all reflect differently in contrasting lights. The colour palette from the image below focuses mainly on the tones found across the orangutans textured face.

Within the image below and to the left, I agagin focused on extracting colours from the deep tones of the orangutan fur. And from the image below and to the right, I focused on colours both from the orangutan and its background.

Focusing on and analysing this variety of images, really developed my understanding of the countless colours that can be found across both orangutan features, and the rainforests they live within. Refining the colours down to the palettes I have displayed here, will allow me to focus and experiment, in order to produce development to my outcomes.
