Referring back to the initial blog post looking at expressions, I have decided to completely disregard that visual approach - it was beneficial for practice but since completing further development, I have decided that producing drawings in that way with the features I included, was almost not as empathetic as how I now want my project to progress. Below are sketches for some facial development - where some features are similar to what I produced before, I feel these sets of sketches are a lot more appealing and inviting. I wanted to exaggerate specific orangutan characteristics, such as the fuzzy fur, large mouth and nose area, and small round ears to stick out the side.

Sketches below are the beginning of different ways in which I could show the orangutans living and / or hanging from the trees and vines around them - as this is where they spend the majority of their lives. This is a fact I plan on using to highlight the disastrous effect of these habitats being taken away from them.

The sketches below show initial experimentation with textured paintbrushes on Procreate.
