Features and materials of biophilic design... Practical?..

- One of the main goals of biophilic design, is to bring the outside, in...by recreating visuals and atmospheres we often only experience when we are outdoors, an aim of biophilic design is to replicate that within our very walls, and as a result, benefit our mentality, our health, the way we work and the way we think.

- Combining a variety of materials, lightings and installations, biophilic design creates the large, open freshness we all find rejuvenating

- Developing this information to then merge with potential practices naturally points me in the direction of considering ways in which I could perhaps recreate the ideas of biophilic design...how can I combine biophilia as a relationship, with biophilic design, all whilst highlighting the details of the natural beauty behind both?

- It is our natural connection as humans to nature and the beauty of the outside, that results in us working and functioning so well when we are surrounded by it in situations and environments that arent so typical...such as in an office, or in the hospital

- Biophilic design recreats natural shapes, patterns, lights, views and brings in plants both large and small

- Some initial ideas of materials I could consider working with in order to replicate, include, glass, dried plants, dried fruit or vegetables, live/growing plants where considering a large installation?

- Why would i consider the use of glass over plastic? Or wood over plastic? - Size and scale is an important factor I am going to have to consider where developing my research

Theoretical?...

- Where analysing potential pathways and directions to lead myself where refining my work and research, I know I currently aim to convey, or somewhat include both biophilia as a relationship and biophilic design throughout my developed research - I believe one element without the other, would struggle to appear as powerful and of impact

- Biophilic design is of such a huge benefit to us as humans, solely because of the natural relationship we have with nature, whether we like it or not...

- What areas of biophilic design to I want to focus on? - Small decorations and accessories? - Large installations? Biophilic design within the architecture of certain buildings? - Why is it used in hotels, hospitals, restaurants, classrooms? - Do i want to focus solely on the health benefits, or the visual beauty?

Technical?...

- Where biophilic design is of such a huge advantage to us, is it only right to give that respect back through the use of only environmentally friendly materials and mediums?

- The use of only recyclable products? - Could I grow my own materials and completely reflect the accessibility of biophilic design...

- Where I want the quality of my work to be high, how can i produce the most effective research and development in order to support my project
