Further Technique Experimentation

Still sticking to a refined, mature, pastel colour palette, I wanted to focus on leaves and the various tones of greens I could work with. Each leaf below is slightly different in the colours ive used - I wanted to ensure I considered and analysed a few options, however this will also be dependant on what type of flower I illustrate them with. The experimentations below show variation in the colours of the leaves and of the backgrounds.

Focusing on the more neutral backgrounds, it is clear to recognise that even though the colours aren't vibrant, the more coloured backgrounds tend to take away from the clarity of the leaves. Feedback from my critique suggested maybe making my colour palette brighter, however I am not completely keen on doing so, as that is not the visual appearance I am aiming for where considering my audience.

I did want to briefly experiment with brighter but still pastel colours as the backgrounds, just to ensure I wasnt missing any potential opportunities. The pink tones above and to the right are certainly what I prefer, despite being slightly dimmer - however this isnt the appearance I am aiming for, so wont take this further.
