Developing Advertisements & Campaigns

Updated: May 12, 2021

Really wanting to bring my cocoa bars to life, I have designed a series of posters, campaigns and advertisements to show how i would introduce the bars and promote Huels new product to the world! Starting with just the cherry flavour, i envisioned an advert that would have a background completely covered in the main fruit ingredient - completely inspired by Huels own advert. But this instantly drowned out the bar. From here i took away the red background leaving it white, but i still felt the amount of cherries was too high and crowded. To the right and belos i decided on having the background only cover half of the layout, which i actually think worked really well alongside the imagery of the packaging.

I completed the same process to produce campaigns for all three flavours. Much like the design of the bars, i corresponded the background, to really make the bars stand out - this provided a contrasting appearance across the range's advertising. I also think where these would be shown individually, explaining that there is a 'range' would entice onlookers to research further into Huels new cocoa bars.

Responding to feedback, a small change i made from here was reducing the size of the gap between the 'Huel Range of Cocoa Bars' sentence, as before this might have been unclear and not the best format.

Final adverts of this style;

Where i love the individual adverts, i wanted to create one showing the three bars together. I still kept this very monochrome, but decided to add the same visuals of the fruits to the background. I wasnt scared to add more colour here, as in their adverts is where Huel bring a lot more colour to their branding, opposed to on the products themselves.

Below are examples of the posters in gyms and changing rooms - ideal locations, in front of those who are obviously health and fitness conscious!

The examples below here, show how i envision the larger campaign of all three bars to be advertised.

Again inspired by Huels form of advertising, i decided to create just three more posters for each bar, with a different but simpler background. These could also be used just as posters, or as posts on social media. To the bottom i have produced some review posters, as for me these have always been a great, encouraging method of advertising. I find review posters reassuring, hearing other peoples opinions and experiences, before making a purchase myself.

Please see below for the Huel adverts that have inspired me, whilst also replicating them in order to really fit in with their process of advertising.
