What plants are used in biophilic design to help with sleep?




Aloe Vera


- Produces oxygen at night to aid a calm and restful sleep

- The juice of its leaves can be used to help heal open wounds and burns

- Minimal care needed

- Removes benzene and formaldehyde from the air



















Lavender

- Popular flower used for

deeper sleep methods

- Has been proven to lower heart rates, blood pressure and stress levels

- One of the most renowned plants to help you sleep

- A study (at Miami Miller School of Medicine) shows that the scent of lavender in bath oil calms babies and is able to send them into a deeper sleep






Snake Plants

- Converts carbon dioxide into oxygen at night, which regulates healthy air flow

- Known to remove some harmful toxins from the air

- Grow quicker in direct sunlight but can grow in low light

















Philodendrons

- Letting them grow along a wall in your room provides visual pleasure

- They have purifying air qualities




















Peace Lilies


- Can increase room humidity by up to 5%, which is great for sleep

- Releases oxygen overnight

- Are low maintenance, only require low-light

- Last 3-5 years
























Jasmine

- Is a popular flower used for relaxation methods

- Gives off a sweet but subtle scent which is used a lot in body and massage oils

- Studies have shown its scent is linked to the reduction of anxiety levels and the improvement of sleep quality

























Gerbera Daisies

- Experts have chosen gerbera daisies as the top choice for those who suffer with sleep apnea - Absorbs toxins and carbon monoxide - emits oxygen at night
